পরীক্ষায় যেভাবে উত্তর করতে হয়—

The Rainy Season

Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. Her beauty changes from season to season. She has six seasons. The rainy season is one of them. The Bangla months of Ashar and Shraban are the months of the rainy season in Bangladesh. I like this season the most. The monsoon creates a rainy season. The southwest monsoon blows along with maximum water vapor during the months of June and July. The monsoon causes heavy rainfall during the rainy season. During the rainy season, the sky remains clouded almost all the time. Sometimes, the sun is not visible at all.

During this time, it rains in torrents. Roads become muddy. Rivers, canals, and ponds are filled with water.

They often overflow their banks. Fields go underwater. Village boys make rafts with banana trees and sticks. They like to roam here and there riding them. I also do the same. The rainy season has great advantages. The current of rainwater carries silt from rivers which makes our soil fertile. Bangladesh is an agricultural country and most of the crops are dependent on rainwater. It helps paddy, jute, vegetables, sugarcane, tea, and many other crops to grow. Besides, it washes away the filth and dirt from the earth’s surface. It also purifies the atmosphere.

Village people can easily travel by boat from one place to another. We have a good supply of fish this season. Sometimes, I along with my friends go fishing. We enjoy it a lot. However, the rainy season is not wholly free from disadvantages. During this season, roads become muddy and slippery. The poor and shelterless people suffer much during this season because they have no abode to protect them from rain. Moreover, too much rainfall causes flood which damages our crops, washes away cattle and huts, and affects the economy of our country. However, with all its merits and demerits, the rainy season is still a blessing for our country and this is why I like it the most.

Due to a rain interruption, Bangladesh was given a revised target of 170 runs from 46 overs, based on the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method. Parvez Hossain Emon ignored physical pain while scoring a gritty 47. The captain, however, was adjudged the “Man of the Match” for anchoring the team towards victory. The title was Bangladesh’s first win in an ICC event at any level. Such an outstanding and historic win created euphoria among the Bangladeshi fans. The triumph will undoubtedly inspire the whole nation in the years to come.

2. Write a short composition on “Rumours and False News in Social Media and its Effects” in around 200

Rumors and False News in Social Media and its Effects

The word “rumor” means ‘a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth.’ In the world of modern technology when there are so many platforms called social media, people are now connected with one other virtually. Every minute they are sending and spreading messages and freely writing what’s on their mind. So there remains a chance of such things happening. But its consequences are sometimes heavy and create unrest in the society.

A few months back, a rumor spread countrywide that the Padma Bridge requires ‘human heads’ for its completion by December 2020 and it went viral on social media. As a result, the rumor spread quickly and mob attacks on the suspected kidnappers became rampant which claimed, at least, 8 people in the vigilante lynching by the mobs, and at least 30 people were attacked in suspect of kidnapping and murdering children.

Composition Writing Rules & Format / Composition Writing Rules & Format For SSC HSC Honours Bank BCS

The most tragic of these attacks took place at the heart of Dhaka where a mother of a four-year-old child went to an Uttar Badda school to enquire about the admission process. The mob found her presence suspicious and she was then accused of kidnapping and was beaten to death. Videos of that event, also, went viral on social media, especially on Facebook. Anthropologists have tried to get to the bottom of the mass attacks and found some age-old facts. The basis of the rumor is an age-old myth regarding human sacrifice needed for the construction of sturdy structures.

They also have found some links with the existing socio-economic conditions related to the globalized, capitalist economy. However, to believe in rumors at this moment of rapid economic development is quite astonishing. It has some connections with the current historical “situation” that has generated a mixed feeling of possibility and powerlessness, modern desires and vast despairs, as well as cohorts of jobless youth. It is evident that the unemployment rate among the youth has been raised significantly over the years. Rumors and misdeeds can only be stopped by establishing a just and civilized society.

3. Write a composition on ‘COVID-19: A menace to Human Civilization and Boon to Nature’.

COVID-19: A Menace to Human Civilization and Boon to Nature

Since humans had emerged as an organized species on the earth, they faced millions of challenges and some of these brought them close to annihilation. The recent COVID-19 pandemic is such an instance as it has threatened the very existence of the human race. We are so far helpless against this disease caused by a specific strain of Coronavirus known as SARS-CoV-2 as scientists have not been able to find a cure or vaccine yet. The entire human civilization has come to a standstill. After the initial outbreak, almost all the countries have stopped all financial and social activities and decided to take a ‘stay at home’ policy to ensure social distancing.

The disease so far has been proved invincible to any medical measures. Hence, social distancing is the only viable solution to the problem to date. However, the aftermath of this global lockdown is grim. The global economy is faced with an imminent recession. Countries Par as Bangladesh, overly populated and laden with extreme poverty, are at the threat of unemployment and famine. Developed countries are fighting the outbreak with efficient medical service which is absent in our country. Are we then on the verge of absolute disaster?

Composition Writing Rules & Format / Composition Writing Rules & Format For SSC HSC Honours Bank BCS

No, if we are conscious about dos and don’ts. We need to limit human interaction unless it is necessary. We will maintain personal hygiene, wear masks and hand gloves, and practice social distancing as directed by the medical authorities. So we need to keep our distance from one another only to keep closer. We need to save the individual to the community. The disease or the virus has created a dual impact on human civilization and nature. While we are facing death and decay, nature is healing significantly. The flora and fauna are rejuvenating while human invasion has ceased even if it is temporary.

The biggest hole in the Ozone layer has already repaired itself while the air quality has radically improved. The oceans have regained their natural undisturbed ecosystem. Perhaps, this pandemic has come to make us realize what we had done to nature and what we should do to sustain a parallel existence without destroying it.

4. Write a composition on ‘The Father of the Bengali Nation: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman” within 250 words.

The Father of the Bengali Nation: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

The Founding Father of our nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the greatest Bengali in the history of a thousand years. He was the charismatic leader who paved the journey of our nation to sovereignty. Born in Tungipara in 1920, Bangabandhu showed his potential as a political leader through his undaunted stance thin the language movement. Gradually, he became our supreme leader by being at the frontline of our decades-long struggle against then-West Pakistan. As the leader of the Awami League, he played the most vital role in the movements in the 50s that culminated in the later 60s. These, eventually, led to our struggle for independence in 1971.

He became the Prime Minister of Bangladesh under a parliamentary system adopted by the new country. Bangladesh is indebted to Bangabandhu for her emergence. Without him, she would be a mere fragment of an unfulfilled dream. Despite this fact, Bangabandhu was assassinated along with the majority of his family members. We can never compensate for the grievances done to the very man who had been the architect of our nation. Our heart bleeds; we cry. We are now trying our potential.

7. Write a composition on Your Visit to a Place of Historical Interest.

My Visit to a Place of Historical Interest

Bangladeshi culture is imbued with a mystic philosophy which is part of its heritage. There are quite a good number of places of historical importance in the region and Mahasthangarh is one of those sites carrying that philosophical essence. It is one of the earliest urban archaeological sites so far discovered in Bangladesh. It was a long-cherished dream of mine that someday I would visit this place. Recently, I got a chance to visit this historical place which enriched my understanding of our heritage. The Mahasthangarh is thought to be dated back to at least the 3rd century BC.

The village Mahasthan in Shibganjthana of Bogra District contains the remains of an ancient city which was called Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura in the territory of Pundravardhana. The main attraction of Mahasthangarh is GovindaBhita, where I visited the remnants of two Buddhist temples. Opposite of GovindaBhita, near the north side of the citadel, is the Mahasthan Archaeological Museum. Though I found the museum quite small, it surely has a well-maintained collection of pieces recovered from the archaeological site discovered in the early 30s of the last century.

The statues of Hindu and Buddhist gods and goddesses, terracotta plaques depicting daily life, as well as some well-preserved bronze images found in nearby monastery ruins dating back to the pre-Pala period, are some of the relics found during the excavation. There are even some antiques used for rituals in the Mauryan period. The overall experience of the visit has nourished my curiosity and my desire to revisit our roots. I feel proud of our age-old heritage, a history that uplifts our identity in the world.

Childhood is the sweetest period in a person’s life. I often remember the days of my childhood. Whenever I remember those days, I feel very happy and nostalgic. In my childhood, my mother was my first teacher who taught me many things. She was actually my first teacher, who taught me the Bangla and English alphabet. I learned how to read and write from her. My elder brother and my neighboring friends were my playmates. I remember how we used to play hide-and-seek, gather plums or guavas that fell from trees and eat them with great relish and pleasure. We sometimes quarrelled with one another but became friends again. Once I attended the sports day at my elder brother’s school. There was a children’s race in which I became first. It was really a matter of pride for me at that moment.

When I was only five and a half years old, my father took me to N. Preparatory English School. It was a very happy and exciting day. The Headmistress asked me a few questions. At first, I was a bit shy but I could answer all the questions and I was allowed to attend KG classes. I made several friends in the school. How happy I was in my childhood days! Of all these natural calamities, flood is the most common here. Every year during the rainy season, many parts of the country get submerged. Floods in our country are caused due to many reasons. Heavy rainfall is the main cause of floods. It causes a sudden increase in the water level in the rivers and canals, which overflows their banks and causes floods. Flood lasting for a long time is a curse to the people of our country as it causes huge loss of life and property.

However, the losses in natural calamities can be reduced to some extent by using modern technology of weather prevented by building embankments and barrages and by forecasting and prior warning. And flood can also be developing a well-planned water passage system. The river beds should be dredged for carrying more water. Effective measures should be taken by the concerned authorities to mitigate the suffering of the victims caused by natural disasters. In a nutshell, it can be said that natural calamities hinder the overall development process of developing countries like Bangladesh. So, steps should be taken to mitigate the adverse effects for the greater interest of the country.

16. Write a short composition on ‘War of Independence.

War of Independence

War of Independence or Liberation War of Bangladesh refers to the war between West Pakistan (now Pakistan) and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) that lasted for roughly nine months in 1971. The war resulted in Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan. Since the end of British rule in 1947, East Pakistan was under the domination of West Pakistan. From the very beginning, the Pakistani oppressive rulers exploited the Bangalees economically, socially, politically, and militarily. In 1952, when the West tried to impose Urdu as the official language in the East, a linguistic-cultural movement began.

A number of students died during the Language Movement. In fact, this was the first significant indication that Bangalees would be oppressed in the years to come. The fight for independence started on March 26, 1971, and continued for nine months. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led the struggle for freedom.

They fought face to face against the Pakistani occupational force. On the international political spectrum, the United States supported Pakistan both politically and materially while the Soviet Union had sympathized with the Bangalees. Indian Army, provoked by Pakistan, also fought along with the Mukti Bahini during the final stage of the war. About 3 million people sacrificed their lives in the war. Finally, on 16 December 1971, the Pakistani army surrendered unconditionally. Bangladesh became an independent nation. 20. Write a composition on ‘The Season You Like Most’

The Season I Like Most

Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. There are six seasons in Bangladesh. The spring is one of them. It is the best, the loveliest, and the most charming of all the seasons. The Bangla months of Falgun and Chaitra make this season. I like this season most. Among the seasons, the spring occupies a very high position. To me, the winter is very cold, dull, and lifeless. In summer, the scorching sun, hot days, and nights make life miserable. The heavy rain and frequent floods in the rainy season bring great suffering to the people.

The autumn and the late autumn have more, or fewer disadvantages than the rainy season and the winter respectively.

But the spring has none of the inconveniences of these seasons. Coming after winter, it captivates the hearts of all. With the arrival of the spring, nature puts on a lively look. Everything in nature looks fresh. The sky looks clear and blue, trees put forth new leaves, and flowers of charming color and scent bloom on trees. Bees and butterflies hum and fly from one flower to another. During this season, a gentle breeze begins to blow. Sweet twitters of birds are heard. The melodious notes of the cuckoo please our ears.

All these charming and pleasing sights and sounds have a positive influence on our minds. Everywhere there is joy and mirth. People also enjoy better health. Besides, during this time, various kinds of vegetables and fruits are also available. The season lasts for a very short period. During this season, some people suffer from diseases like diarrhea, cholera, chickenpox, etc. In spite of its few disadvantages, its positive aspects are overwhelming. Truly speaking, its actual presence in Bangladesh is not more than two or three weeks. Perhaps, its short stay has made it dearer to us. For all these reasons, I like spring the most.
